Can I still live in my house if it's being remodelled?

Hi Team,

This might seem like a silly question, but I was thinking of adding a second level to my bungalow in Toronto.

I have been reading up on the renovation process and was wondering if it’s possible for me to still live in my house while it's being remodelled?

With how hectic things can get I don't think I'll have time to seek out other accommodations and having the ability to live in my house while it's being remodelled will really be a benefit to me.

Thank you,

Ms Campbell

Most of our clients manage to stay at home during the remodelling process, but that obviously depends on the scope of work, and availability of their space. If client has finished basement, or does not renovate main floor, the second floor addition should not prevent them from staying at home. Of course, it is not super comfortable, due to a dust and other disturbances, and requires some changes in the usual daily regime. But since our work is done fairly quickly, a couple of months of inconvenience vs. significant savings (moving out and renting for up to 6 months can save app $15,000), is an additional incentive for clients to decide about the feasibility of their projects with Modular.

I hope this has helped answer your question, and helps you decide whether or not staying in your house while it's being remodelled.
